Awards Dinner to Honor 4 Women
We invite you to our annual awards dinner to be held Tuesday, March 27th, 6:00 p.m. at the Royal Kona Resort.
Each year, Soroptimist International of Kona presents Youth Citizenship, Violet Richardson and Women’s Opportunity Awards to deserving women in our community.
The Youth Citizenship Award recognizes the outstanding contributions made by young people between the ages of 14 and 18 to home, school, community, country and the world. This year's award goes to Caitlin Howard-Gomez, who is a senior at Kealakehe High School, Student Body President, and also President of the Aloha Performing Arts Center Teen Theater group.
The Violet Richardson award goes to young women who make the community and world a better place through their volunteer efforts. This year's winner is Lindsey Christine Milke, a student at Kealakehe High School.
The Women’s Opportunity Award provides motivated women the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects. Stephanie Briseno Sanchez, a student at the University of Hawaii, West Hawaii Campus, is this year's winner. And the runner up for this year's award is Wanda Gomes, a Hilo Community College student.
Please join us in celebrating the accomplishments of these outstanding women.
Tickets are $30. Contact Suzanne Gillam at 329-1351 to make your reservation.
